sisters
by Rina Hajra
ABOUT
Growing up as sisters, Stella and Daphne transition from innocent children to pageant queens to victims of opioid addiction, despite their mother's futile attempt to change their fates. Sisters acts as a visual progression into the abyss, exploring the correlation between small-town poverty, its lack of opportunities, sexual violence, and addiction.
“Addiction is a chronic, often relapsing brain disease that causes compulsive drug seeking and use despite harmful consequences to the individual that is addicted and to those around them.”
